My fav character of Urusei Yatsura is Oyuki.
I don't know why, but she's the girl I'd like to be too, somehow anywayz.
Just think she's cool!

She's not really scary to me she seems to be the most down-to-earth person out of the lot and whoever DOES cross her pretty much deserves what they get
She's my favorite character because...well she's to me what Lum is to most only I'm not as fanatical as say Megane or Mendou(I've got some dignity...plus I do like more than just how she looks)

Oyuki is one of my favourite characters,i kinda like her ladylike attitude. Princess of Neptune.......that sound's pretty cool,right?

I'd say it's quite the same, with Oyuki crying "oh, no, please..." to a lighten-up Ataru, when we know very well that she could freeze him in no time if she wanted to... :&
And when B-boy takes away Ataru she thinks loudly "Too bad, we were just starting..." :P

Oh I could think of a few creative things to do to him.... :Pictures using Judas' Majin Rengokusatsu on him among other things:

Well, I may finally have an idea for a UY fic(Advil and some...hardcore pain pill inspired) and I've got a couple questions regarding it's leading lady
1. Is there any mention of Oyuki's parents anywhere, I've read pretty much every manga story involving her and there seems to be none
2. Other than the Yeti, are there any men on Neptune, so far the only humanoids I've seen are the Yuki-onna so I assume men are brought from outside and used to procreate.... if so then this idea would work out perfectly

I am not a very big fan of Oyuki, because...
- I hate could and she is too much.
- I wouldn't like to be near her even a mile when she has cought a could.
But some things are beter than some things others caracters have:
- A grate personality.
- and she is easly understoud.

The only time I can remember her expressing any kind of positive emotion at any point was during her introduction, after Ataru was trying to mollest her, and B-Boy interrupted. It was when she said "Pity, he was just getting started". Actually, other than the time when she was getting angry at the general of the Neptunian Ice Mice, I think that was the only time she ever expressed any kind of emotion.
That's one of the reasons I like Oyuki so much, complete stoicism.
But you know, I could be wrong. I may have missed her expressing herself other times, and just not remember it.

Well, I think that Oyuky is a character not totally developped by R.T., that's why I've decided to go in deep in her personality in my fanfictions: I've imaginated her as a person "with_the_head_on_the_sho ulders" but also so jealous and able to appreciate the noble sentiments (that's why she's felt in love with Mendo).
Soon (if Mary Victory, my incoming daugher, will allow me !!!) I'll write a tale with her involved in ..... ehm ..... "something" versus Ryoko, with the same intention: going in deep with a character that her poesy has not been written yet.

Since you're discussing Oyuki in fanfics I want people's thoughts on how she'd react/interact to a dimension travelling demi-god/street punk/anti-authoritarian whose relentlessly stalking his wife's killer across space-time... He's not emo or anything he won't hesitate to cut loose, even jokes about himself as being 'time-travel's bastard' but if someone ries to push him around, he'll pay'em back in spades

Well I was debating on whether to have her act the way she did in her intro (that could've been due to lack of development or she really was just playing with Ataru)

I've been thinking about Oyuki and UY plot and if someone made like a chapter, episode or fanfic about Oyuki and her temporary allergy to ice and cold I think it would be a funny story. But funnier than that... what if Lum got allergy to electricity? Ataru would definately take the chance to girl-hunt freely. At Moroboshi's home everyone must use candles instead of electricity. What do you think?

She still can fly, right? She only got allergy to electricity, not electric furniture, right?

Exactly. Kroptik got what I was saying about Lum's electric allergy: she can't use shock therapy against Ataru's girl hunt. But Dak made a pretty good point: she can fly which means she could chase Ataru and grab him. Anyways, we have seen many times Ataru hiding from her and Lum couldn't find him anywhere even from the air. I think that a story based on Lum's electrical allergy could be really funny.

Well, I don't i do not subscribe this point of view: all right Shutaro is in love with Lamù but don't forget that, any time he meets a pretty girl, immediately tries to "have" her (that's why he's the sworn ennemy of Ataru: cannot survive two roosters in the same hen house, the clash becomes inevitable) !!
I noticed, however, that the times he approached Oyuki (especially in the episode "surprise party" or in "Boy Meets Girl), she has never complained about him (as she's used to do with Ataru).
From here I caught the "window of opportunity" to develop my idea (which, don't forget, was to "melt the queen of snow").
With regard to the approach that Ataru had with her the first time they met in Neptune I can say that this thing is present in the manga but not in the anime.
