Actually, you can get a slight nosebleed from it, but it's atributed to nervosism, not exactly sexual arousal. But since sexual arousal around others can leave you embarrased/nervous, in extreme ases it might happen, I guess.

Lol, I guess you can say that. Considering certain animes revolve around sexual arousals (ecchis), authors probably had to get something more "decent" to show it then bulges in pants. Although it's used just as that (in a way other characters don't even seem to notice it), sometimes it leads to comedic situations, like in MariaHolic, where everyone thinks the main girl is anemic, because of her constant nosebleeds and passing outs (picture a lesbian in an all-girls school if you've never seen the name).

still Offtopic: although I don't completely understand the world of touhou or know the names of all the characters, I still love it. I've played the games and they are hard to beat, even on easy. I don't want to get too carried away, but you are the first member here that I've seen that likes touhou.
back on topic: well nosebleeds can happen randomly like the one I had when I was a kid ( and the only one up to this point), suddenly I saw drops of blood on my math book while I was doing homework, then realizing they were mine or maybe the math book was...

I have lots of nosebleeds, mostly because of the heat. Like, today I was taking a shower and all of a sudden, I look down and I see spots of blood on the water. At first I thought of period but then I remembered that period does NOT come when the girl/woman is wet and also, it's already gone for this month (yay!). Then, I realized it was my nose and it took 5 minutes to stop the bleeding.
Even though I have no proof of it... when I nosebleed is not because I'm sexually aroused. xD

I've had a nose bleed before and it does often take a while to get it to stop.
I believing closing the nostrils with your thumb and finger while NOT tilting back helps control the flow. By that, it won't be flowing at as much and should be okay after a while to let it close.
For me, it's ALWAYS the same nostril :S
I actually had one while I was DRIVING home from school, and I was still about 10 minutes away on the HIGHWAY.
Luckily... I had a Kleenex in my pocket :D

Offtopic: SDM, have you tried applying vaseline to the inside of your nostrils? Nose bleeds that are caused by cold happen when the skin contracts becoming stretched; skin is more likely to break under pressure when dry. Using a humidifier or a bowl of water near a radiator should also help.

I also have several nosebleeds for no apparent reason. Sometimes, I know why it happens. When it's too hot, in the summer, I bleed because it has something to do with the pressure on my nose veins. In the Winter, I often bleed from the nose because when I catch a cold, I constantly wipping my nose and it gets sore. At somepoint, the tissue that protects my nose veins is so thin, that eventually it will rip off once I wipe my nose or sneeze. And there I go, bleeding again. xD And as if it wasn't enough, once the nosebleed stops, if I sneeze or wipe my nose again, it restarts all over again. I'm serious, one day I'll need a blood transplant. >.<
And then of course, it happens for no apparent reason:
Reading a book during classes - nosebleed Taping me and some friends for a project - nosebleed (this one happened Thursday and it took me 30 minutes to stop it) And so on...
I guess Kanako fits me well. xD

Hahahaha! :*) "Veteran otaku". I only came to find anime & manga 3 years ago, and what little I've seen has shown me just how BIG the universe of anime/manga/MMORPG/visual novels is ... and how I am only involved in a tiny fraction of it all. I am so not an otaku. :)
Same thing applies to when I was doing comic books in the late-90's up through March 2004. I was only doing a half-dozen independent titles but if I said "I'm reading comic books" everybody would think Stuporheroes Stuff, and I'd have to explainnnnn .... ::)

Don't tell me. I've been cauterized (is it spelled right?) something like six times and my nosebleeds used to last about hours when i was younger. all due to a wrong diagnosis. it's five years now that they don't last more than ten minutes (they usually end in five) but i still nosebleed during the season changes or when i got a cold, and i'm still a bit scared of that. believe me, if you're seven and you woke up in the early morning with the pillow covered in your blood, you're not gonna forget that for the rest of your life. I consider myself an expert about it (and nobody knows how much i'd like not to.). well, sorry for that, it just went out of me, but, you know, they say that a common problem is a half joy (in Italian is something like that), so..

i saw the wallpaper from konachan, that's a good site where u can find a lot of walls, including adult material. there is another one very similar to that, is moe.imouto, just in case somebody is interested, in that place you'll find a lot of pics and HQ pics/scans from several animes, and they include of course ecchi and nudes, so if u're underage don't go to those sites, if u're over 18 or art close to 18 go ahead and take a look.

100% sure it's an anime only thing. Not only would a person not be able to survive if it had gender allergies, but that's not even possible. Ever heard someone being allergic to male cats but not female cats? Men and women are all humans, there's no way you can be allergic to only one gender. >_>
