My god, the animations have really improved! This is a huge shock after constantly watching '80s episodes. XD I dunno if it's because this is a preview, but it is really RANDOM. And whats with the Dappya Monster?

I have to agree with Sonic, the animation style looks excellent. ;D
I really do hope this sin't the last we'll see of UY, I want more OVAs with this new style. :P
Also, Ataru saving Lum and they nearly kissing just made me want to see it more. :O
And the ending looked pretty funny but also kinda cute. :P

all right, I'm a confident but:
1) drawings worse every time, I regret the quality of the 80s;
2) THEY'RE STEALING MY IDEAS: Ataru cares Lam� when she's in danger and this time he's "forced" to (<<rather>>) kiss her to save the life of the alien.
Anyway I'll buy immediatly when will be translated also in italian.

News about the new OVA:
The full-length episode will be released as part of a "digipack" box set (which will include a book about 'em) of all 3 new OVA's on January 29, 2010. The price will be 19,950 yen (about $200).
I assume this will be a Region-2 DVD, and I'll guess there will be no subtitles. No word yet about a Region-1 release (VIZ? AnimEigo? PleasepleasePLEASE release to NorthAmerica! With subs at least!)
In the meantime -- I'll start a savings account. Gotta have it!

Are you sure there's not an extra 0 in there? 20$ seems more appropriate...
Don't get me wrong, it looks like some great OVAs, but for 200 bucks, i'd be disappointed if it didn't include some machine to let you enter the anime dimension.
What does that pack really include (besides the OVAs and that book)?

You were closer that you thought. Not life-size, though. The box-set is available for pre-order at CD Japan: part of their description says, "DVD box release of "It's a Rumic World Special" featuring special version of Rumiko Takahashi's popular anime "Urusei Yatsura," "Ranma 1/2" and "InuYasha." Includes three special character figures from each anime, 32-page booklet and deluxe outer case".
Now, for myself, I'd be likely to think that what they meant was 3 figures, one from each series (and NOT "3 figures from each anime"), but at least they're sweetening the $200 pot in an appropriate manner.

Watching this preview will somehow be like a double edge sword because although it shows us a fine piece of art,it will also provoke a sense of anxiety on all of us

i want to watch this ova, no matter if i have to watch it english subbed , but i rather watch it spanish subbed, but in this case i won't mind to watch it english subbed.
