Yeah. I remember when I had to wear briefs back in boot camp. Very uncomfortable. They could at least have let us wear boxers. Underwear is so uncomfortable. :(

It's perfectly normal that some of the clothing we see and tried are uncomfortable! I'm going to give you a UY-themed example. You know the 80's fashion sense, right? Well whenever I see a character (usually female) wearing these type of jeans that covers almost your belly button and sometimes goes even higher (sorry but I find it hard to explain through english words, I hope you understand) I just... get uncomfortable, too. lol It feels like I'm stuck and can't move. This is why I always wear baggy jeans and XXL t-shirst and sweats and large stuff. x)

He means that's how denim jeans were designed to fit women. Believe it or not, men's jeans were designed to be worn that high too. They're supposed to fit snug around the crotch. But no one wears them that way cause no one is comfortable like that. But jeans were never really designed for comfort. They were designed for horseback riding, so you wouldn't tear your legs up when you fall off.

Or at least I think that's what he means.

Sid, your reply reminded me of something: a few weeks ago I was at the dentist and picked up a magazine (not one of those that is all about other people's lives. This one was more about science and fun facts and stuff like that) and I read an article that talked about pants and jeans. The article was saying that scientists have proved that pants and jeans weren't made to fit the waist (whether the user is female or male). Pants and jeans are were actually to fall down of the waist.

Maybe I'm dumb but I just don't see what do scientists have to do with this but whatever. Also, when I think about all the pants and jeans I've had, all of them would fall down of my waist.

Used ta be, in the Olden Days, "jeans" meant Levi's jeans and Levi's only had but ONE configuration: the 505. The waistline on Levi's 505's was designed to ride just below the natural waist (like an inch [2.5cm] below).

NOW, I buy me beloved Levi's 505's (no other brand fits me just right) and the poster on the wall tells me that the 505 is now designed to fit AT the waist. So, even a "timeless classic" gets redesigned.

Cata: the phrase you sought above ("... that covers almost your belly button and sometimes goes even higher ....") is high-waisted. How do I (a guy) know this? I'm old; you pick up more stuff as you go.

Fashion comes and fashion goes. Waistlines, hemlines, tie and lapel widths, they all ride the fashion roller-coaster.

Showing your underwear is an "important" part of nowadays teens in Portugal. Everywhere I look, I see some boxers coming out of a random jeans. xD

I use baggy jeans and on the "low waist" but I make sure my underwear and privates are PRIVATE! xD

I'm very liberal and I love to fool and joke around. I don't really think that is wrong to talk with guys or girls about these or other kinds of stuff because it's like... I mean... harmless! Like no one's going to die for talking about such subject right? It's just curiosity about how guys and girls deal with stuff and like what's the big deal? If you were girls you would KNOW that having period isn't a "happy" thing as those Evax commercials show. xD And so much more! And if my brother and I didn't talk about wearing boxers inside his bathing shorts, maybe when I'm a mother, if I have a son, I'll know what's going to be more comfortable for him when he's little and actually understand him more.

But like if you want me to stop asking and bringing things up just say so! I hate when someone has a problem with someone else and that person just goes aroung telling everyone what's wrong but not talking about it with the person he/she has an issue with.

Yes, Sid I know what shy means. I'm shy like Ataru. It's very hard for me to tell my feelings to someone that I really care about. Also, but unlike Ataru, when I meet someone, I'm shy but when me and that person know each other more and more I just show my crazyness and stuff. But yes, I'm shy even though only in the beggining of a friendship or something like that. Also, I feel uncomfortable and embarassed when my girl friends say such things like "you have a great body: your tall, thing, you have good breasts and you hide everything in those baggy clothes!". Doesn't this count as shyness? =S

Oh and when I have to speak to all my class as presenting a work or answering a question, I just go red, start sweating from my hands and stutter. This is shyness, too I guess.

About hiding your body though, it could either be that you don't like your body (like you've been saying around here, you're a bit of a tomboy, and maybe you have a very "femaly" body?) or it could be actual shyness, but that's unlikely (it's probably a mix of both, but with the first thing I said counting more).

Anyway, I'm not the expert in understanding humanity, so what do you think Sid? :P

Anyway, a shy person is always shy. They don't get over it quickly or easily. They're just never comfortable around people. I'm like that. As far as hiding your body, I'll have to agree with kroptik. It's probably because you're ashamed of your own femininity at some level. You should just randomly one day wear girly clothes, like a dress or something, gauge people's reactions. You'll probably be more pleased than you think. And as far as being embarrassed when you stand in front of the class for a speech, well, stage fright is a rather common thing, whether you're shy or not.

I don't like to be the center of atention. I don't feel uncomfortable with my body, otherwise don't you think that if I did, I would be thinking about plastic surgery or liposuction or breast implants or even a sex change? Well I'm confortable with my body. I'm not ashamed of it and I know I have a nice body but I do not like to expose it. I don't like to feel that I'm being watched and the sensation that some people are just staring at me. Even when someone compliments me but on other matters such as inteligence or even school subjects I feel embarassed.

I act the same whether those who compliment me are boys or girls.

Falling, I'm keeping my body and I'm already sharing it with someone else, in case you're wondering if I could share it with you... xD

If not, you can always get a normal one and dress it up in cosplay. Although, I don't think a realdoll would be all that great. I'd think it'd remind me too much of a corpse or something. Every time I try and think of a use for one, I end up coming up with these weird ideas like using it to set up a fake murder scene with fake blood and everything in my living room just to freak someone out.

I took a look at their site again, but I can't find the anime ones anymore. But it seems now they got a whole line that are supposed to be inspired by cartoons and anime. They do kinda look like CG models to me though.

About the natural thing... Well I like "natural" people, that's one of the main reasons why I dislike makeup. But, on the other hand, I believe that one must feel good about his/her body so I think that implants or other type of "improvement" (including sex changes) don't really "gross" me or anything. I just think that anyone that thinks of doing it, must do it because of his/her comfort and not for what other people would think.

I think those dolls are really well-made but the fact that they have those expressions... I don't know it just creeps me out, too. I prefer the "real thing". Yeah, the only problem with those love dolls is that they're reminiscent of a corpse. But I'm sure you've all seen the humanoid robots they've built. I bet it won't be too long before they can make a love doll that can move. From there, AI is inevitable. Then we can have real androids, and anatomically correct too. Take my word for it, if there's anything that pushes technological progress at the same level that war does, it's the sex industry. If it weren't for lonely perverted nerds coming up with ways to get off without involving real girls, I don't think this world would be quite as much fun as it is.

Plus it would be a lot more profitable for the inventor if the first android is built as a sex doll than it would be if it was built for anything else.

All the commercials seem to have either a near-naked young woman or a shirtless guy (when it's women products usually), even coomercials for stuff totally irrelevant to it. I understant it's to captivate the audience, it's publicity after all, but honestly I don't think it even works. I mean, you get so distracted watching the girl/guy, you forget the product. xD

Yes it's true. Sex is a best-seller. I don't think that sex-related jobs are a bad thing. It's just a way to get money and it's totally fine IF and only IF it doesn't harm anyone like making someone do what she/he doesn't want to. Lots of people face prostitution as a bad thing, well I think of prostitution as a job just like every legal job as long as the prostitutes are treated well and with dignity and like no violence and all that. Maybe I'm too liberal and stuff but like... I don't know. It's just my opinion. I can always be wrong you know?

Also, I don't think this conversation isn't being offensive, unless someone is feeling attacked or something and I can only speak for myself and I don't feel like that.

About the ads... Well I saw this show on TV a while ago and it said that when you watch commercials, for example a beer ad that basically is a beach-blonde hair playboy girl bringing a beer to a random man, well you don't associate the beer to feeling good or to be good, or to be cheap or something like that. Our brain "assume" that if you buy that bear, that beach-blonde hair chick will actually "come" with the beer. And this is quite weird because when I buy something, whether it's a drink or any other kind of product, I don't really think that what I saw on the commercial will actually happen. It's the subconscious that thinks of it and makes us buy things.
