Anyone else ever notice that as the manga progresses, the skimpier the bottom on Lum's bikini gets? In the first couple chapters, it looks more like she's wearing a miniskirt, then a little later in the story, it more resembles a pair of daisy duke cut-off shorts, and then towards the end it more resembles a normal bikini bottom?

actually I kinda did notice that. Then again when you look at the first chapter Lum looks SO different from face and hair alone.

Yet another evolution in the style of artwork throughout the series. Seems like it wasn't only the anime that had drastically evolving artwork from beginning to end.

I don't think there is one. I mean, seasons change, because you see snow scenes and beach scenes, but I think the UY year is always the same (class 2-4 is always the same, right?).

There's no such thing as time in UY. Back when I was working on my own reimagining of UY (which didn't get very far, mind you), I sought to correct it, but resolving the fact that the manga's story came out over 9 years, and the anime's story over 12 years, with the fact that the characters, despite having had birthdays, seasons passing, and the ultimate in measuring the passing of time, yearly setsubuns, never aged, was one of the many things I was having issue with.

It's Tomobiki, weird things happen there, so maybe time doesn't flow like normal. :P
For all we know, Ataru's bad luck may have placed Tomobiki in some weird space-time void. xD

Kasaioni those changes are even noticeable on the anime series, just watch some episodes in random order and you'll see.

she is getting bigger but the clothes are staying as it is. So as she gets taller, naturally clothes will get shorter :)
