Title: What was the first anime you ever watched?

For me, it was Vampire Hunter D (the original one, not BloodLust).

I'm just curious. :)

I think it, if this is an anime, samurai pizza cats... But other than that pokemon

Of course back then I hadn't grasped the concept of anime. The first anime I watched where I more understood the concept would probably be InuYasha.

Again this was YEARS ago so there's no way of knowing for sure...

althought it was not the first, ranma made me realize what really was anime and how they were so different from cartoons ;)

I forget how young kids these days actually are. When I first saw Vampire Hunter D, I think it was 1994. I remember seeing it on the one little shelf of anime movies they had at my local Blockbuster Video, and thinking it looked cool, so I rented it. It was shortly after that that I started seeing DBZ and Ranma, and then eventually saw Akira. Such a long time back to remember. Early days of high school. Oh well.

I think the first anime I saw was really UY, thought I can't say for sure, because at that time I watched a LOT of the Panda channel, which I remember aireda lot of animes and cartoons.

I'm just not sure if they aired anime by then, though I think they didn't. (I don't even remember how old I was and had never heard of the word anime by then.)

lets see, my first aired anime would probably be Dragon Ball, english dub of course, but at the time i was probably 4 or so, i remember that much because the reason i started watching more tv was because my brother was born

my first anime when i started to become an otaku would most definitely be Ranma 1/2, my first every anime download was Ranma season 3, ah sweet history, i'd love to relive those days

Well talking about the first anime nobody can remember with certainly but when I was little I saw everytime "Maia the Bee","Marco" and "Heidi".
Someone's may not consider this like animes but they are really animes from the 70's and the 80's.

The first Anime I ever watched but not knowing it was, it was Dragon Ball. Then I watched Sailor Moon, Pokemon, Doraemon, etc. But the first Anime I ever watched when I was starting to understand what Anime really is, is called Doremi. I only realised 100% of what Anime is when I watched UY.

My first anime was UruseiYatsura2-BeautifulDreamer, back around 1998(?) or so. First viewing of TV-anime was the UruseiYatsura DVD sets, late-2006/early-2007.

I started watching the TV series which I found on youtube. I don't remember exactly how I found the video as I'd never had an interest in anime or manga before.

yes but what I asked was how could it be your FIRST anime? You've never watched anime before UY? Not Pokemon, Digimon, Dragonball (Z/GT), Sailor Moon, Ranma 1/2, Inuyasha etc?

I should mention that I live in the UK and have never had cable or satellite channels at all. I've only had freeview for 2 years and that has no anime channels.

the first anime I watched on tv was.. well i think it was Ranma, or it may be one with a guy with a "light sword" or something like that (don't even know if it is an anime), and, a few (three-four) years later UY.

Speaking of swords... I remembered another one of my 1st animes... Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs... How could I ever forget that song... XD
