It's confirmed!! Finally after about 15 years there is really a NEW UY thing that is going to be released.
God bless the guy who had the idea to make this game
-

Urusei Yatsura- Lum no Wedding Bell
The game is mainly Lum zapping up some monsters and bosses :D
-
No, not that game. Its a completely new game and if you dont know the Nintendo DS has about the same graffics that the Nintendo 64 so we can expect a 3D UY game.
-
God, I dont understand why nobody showed any interest in this, I mean after so long there's really gonna be anything NEW for UY.
-
I saw in my brothers nintendo power that its listed under US releases.... i hope thats true
-
Really? Can you give me a link?
-
... :( ...
Damn!!!
With Playstation 2, XBOX and Gamecube available they develope a game for Nintendo DS!!! :(
Hey, I'm happy to hear something new has been created and I'm very curious to see it, but a game for the other consolles would have been stuffed with tons of animations and audio tracks...a DVD media vs a cartridge? No way!!!
The best UY game ever made 'til now is "Dear My Friends" for Mega-Cd, I just loved the opening and the images was great too!!! :9
Another good game was "Stay with me" for PcEngine, but both of them used something better than a cartridge... ;(
Sigh, I want a PS2 UY game... :'(
-
For me a RPG UY game FF style would be perfect.
-
Perhaps for this, i'd better start learning Japanese. :|
I heard NDS and PSP start selling these days, and i'm surprised that UY will appear on NDS! thatr's great!
And is that the one MARVELOUS is making?
-
Any Updates on this info???
Is it realy coming out??? Or Was it just a hoax???
-
It was confirmed in Japan by some time now. Nothing new yet.
-
OMFG!!! Wow, I wonder what it's going to be like!
-
Like a blank Screen by the looks of it.... }:|
I search for the game and i cant find any UY games for DS not even in the DS home page. :?
-
Yeah!! :|
Every site I found out report "N/A" to every kind of info, the only known things are the title (and it's still uncomplete!!! }:|) and the software house!! :/
I'm beginning to think they haven't even started the production! :&
-
i think the game will be launch only in japan
-
Just because there isn't any info on it yet doesn't mean it's in production, game companies often conceal information until a few months prior to release, for example Namco's Tales of Legendia that's comming out this year has been under production since early 2003 yet they didn't release anything until last september(first under a tentative title with a BEAUTIFULLY animated trailer) then last month they released signifigant information on it
Even if the game's released only in Japan you can still play it, DS, GBA, PSP are all region free, it'll be a bit expensive for import costs but you won't have to do anything to your DS
-

I heard this one too!! This means there will be no excuses, the modchip will need only for playing backups, not japanese titles...
Just because there isn't any info on it yet doesn't mean it's in production
Well, you are certainly right, but it's a common practice to promote titles with images, trailers and demos long before the launch of the finished product, I'm not used to this lack of every kind of info... }:|

So are you saying there's a modchip out for the DS already(wow that was fast...) I personally never used one, instead I bought a Swap Card to play my 4(soon 5 once Tales of Legendia comes and 1 other when Namco x Capcom comes out) import Tales games...

I think Game companies do this to avoid creating early hype which would pressure them for an early release, that version might be buggy as hellor 'unfinished' example. Star Ocean for the Super Famicon was the biggest Cart Game of it's time however Tri-Ace leaked too much early info on it and the public demanded an early release, which they got and the game was EXTREMELY buggy(which made it un-emulatable for quite some time...) it also missed a large portion of storyline, like there was a HUGE plot gap between the teaser ending and real ending....
For me a RPG UY game FF style would be perfect.
What do you mean FF-style, do you mean turn-based battle system or do you mean gawdy graphics and a villain with a mother/god complex(Points to that over-used guy with long white-hair and black trench coat) sorry if anyone found that stab at FFVII offensive but I've been 'disgusted' with most of the ladder FF's(save for IX, even with the gawdy graphics they still managed to return to the series' roots...)
As for it comming to the US it really depends on the developer and how well the series is recieved over here, if it's done by Bandai then there's a chance because lately(thanks to the success of the .hack games) they've been bringing over their anime tie-in games
-
So are you saying there's a modchip out for the DS already(wow that was fast...)
Well, no, I was referring to PSP only (but it wasn't so obvious, was it? ^^; ), PS1/2 and XBOX are the consolles using a wide range of modchips, Nintendo's never needed them...well GameCube would need one, but it seems a hard task... xP
If a modchip for DS existed they would have been far too fast! ^^;
...and probably it will never exist!
I personally never used one, instead I bought a Swap Card to play my 4(soon 5 once Tales of Legendia comes and 1 other when Namco x Capcom comes out) import Tales games...
I lost too many originals and you know the price of a game, now I play with backups, so I can scratch all the copies I want! :P
But the modchip is needed, and the swap trick is possible only with a boot disk, and if you ruin it... xP
About the DS game, it's certainly better to have a good finished product without any actual news, but after several months of nothing we can start to think every kind of thing, I suppose this is normal... :P
It would have been better to know nothing at all and discover about it near its completion... :)
-
You actually don't need a Modchip for the GC, you can just use a FreeLoader, you can get one at modchip.com or buy a PAR there's one installed

Wat's whit all the quotes???? LOL :D)

I already have the Freeloader, but it can only boot originals, not backups... since it's quite difficult even to make backups I don't use GC too much, and once a disc is scratched it's definitely lost!! :'(
...and the broadband hack is out of discussion!! :N
The modchip does nothing more than Freeloader, so...

Wat's whit all the quotes???? LOL
Because it's easier to address each point then just by 'jumping from one idea to another' in random paragraphs...

Yup! :Y

Yup!!! :Y :N :?

I've been reading this thread and umm... I have no clue to as what a Mega CD is... is that suppose to be some kind of SegaCD? ... ga.... and I call myself a gamer .... :o
By the way I'm new to the forums... :)
If you know what a Mega CD is please inform me. Thank you.
-
It's an old console. I think it was Sega's right? Isn't what we here in europe call megadrive?
-
Yup Mega CD was made by Sega, it I think was first a stand-alone thing then became a Genesis/Mega Drive attachment I myself never had one(One of the few consoles that ISN'T in my 'Console Museum') but I did play a few games on my cousin's like the original Lunar: The Silver Star and Lunar: Eternal Blue
-
Yeah! I had a used Mega-Cd unit time ago, but it lasted only few months... :'(
...and I bought it only for Lum's game!! }:|
Fortunately today it's easily emulated by any pc... :&
-
Any NEW News about the bed time story :P of the UY game for DS?!?!?!?!?
By the way the only reason a still have 1 Sega mega drive and 1 Sega Master System is because I LOVE the Sonic The Hedgehog Games specialy because they are 2D-3D. That my friends are the best games for me i do have the most recent ones but its not the same thing :N

Turns out the UY game was made by Game Arts, who also developed the Lunar games.
For anyone who is confused, the Mega CD and the Sega CD are the same thing, just for different regions of the world.
Okay, now who wants some UY DS news? Raise your hands!!

This DS take on the anime classic offers endless gameplay for bad players.
by Anoop Gantayat
August 12, 2005 - Marvelous Interactive announced a DS adaptation of the classic Urusei Yatsura anime a while back, but it wasn't until we got this week's issue of Famitsu in our hands that we learned all the details. The game's full name is Urusei Yatsura: Endless Summer, and it seem to offer love simulation gameplay with a twist.
Endless Summer begins when Lum, the green-haired heroine of the show, picks up her very own DS from Space Television Shopping. No, not the Nintendo portable DS system, but the Dairenai Simulation Machine. "Dairenai" means "Great Love." To use this machine, you input the stats for someone you have the hots for. That person is then forced to fall in love with the person who most loves him (it's a little complicated). Lum intends to use this item to put an end to main character Ataru Moroboshi's hanky-panky.
Playing as Ataru, the king of "nanpa" (picking up on chicks), you get to experience the month of August in the town of Tomobikichou. At the end of the summer, your love level with a bunch of girls, including Sakura, Oyuki, Sakura and, of course, Lum herself, is calculated. If Lum isn't the most affectionate for you, you get sent back to the start of summer and have to play the game again... hence then name "Endless Summer."
The game is split into days, with each day allowing for twelve hours of free movement, from ten in the morning to nine at night. You view Tomobikichou overhead, with the top screen showing the full town and the bottom screen showing a close up view where you control your character. Your goal is to look for girls, but you have to plan your moves carefully, as each change of location drains an hour from your clock.
Endless Summer makes use of the DS's touch capabilities by letting you get touchy feely with the characters. You can touch a character's face, body, chest or waist, and based on the location, your partner's reaction will change. You're not just limited to touching girls -- the male characters can also be touched to your heart's delight.
The Urusei Yatsura show was known for its humor, so we're hoping for a DS title that makes us laugh. A Japanese release for Endless Summer is set for October 20th.
[END of article]
I think they meant "Shinobu, Oyuki, and Sakura" not two Sakuras. Does anyone else agree that a dating sim sounds like an ideal genre for this series?
-
They finnaly updated it... took almost an year. Since there's no way an European release will ever happen I'll have to import it.

Me too... xp
But it's the only one I'm missing right now... ;p
-
Import From where???
Site plz
-
You can't import yet, the game as just been anounced in Japan but you can import it from Amazon. Even if the game isn't released in the USA you can still import it from Amazon's japanese site.
Pictures!!!!! http://www.the-magicbox.com/0508/game050823b.shtml
-
...I already love it!!! O+ :Y
-
What about Amazon UK???
-
The UK makes part of Europe (not that you don't know) and Mazon UK only has stuff that are actually sold in the UK and since it's almost impossible that an European release will happen... we will be lucky if an USA release ever happens...
-
(This marks my return from Hell/Disney World and playing Legendia)
You could also use www.Play-Asia.com or www.Himeyashop.com if there are preorder bonuses I'd suggest Himeya because you're almost garuntee'd the bonus, Play-Asia you h ave to time your pre-order to get it(my experience from Namco x Capcom and Legendia no earlier than 3 weeks before release)
Good ol'Famitsu you can always count on them, I wonder if they're looking for a video of someone solo'ing Gabriel(Indalico) in Star Ocean 2; back on topic was there any idea of a release like Quarter 2, 3, 4 06 it'll give me time to actually GET a DS
-
I plan to hopefully get this once I get a job and my DS. Lol. Even though I can't understand japanese, I still want to get it. :) Hopefully it won't go OOP or anything soon. I hate when that happens to games.

I couldn't either but after importing 1, 2, 3...7(one being mostly in english cept for the new content) RPGs I learned to memorize most Katakana, some Hiragana and identify about 100 Kanji (Yatta! only 1/10 of the ammount the average Japanese person knows!), hopefully it'lll have some voice acting it's alot easier to identify the text/understand what they're saying if it's voiced
What do ou mean by 'OOP'
also I just checked Play-Asia.com and it lsays Endless Summer's release date is Oct 20th and it's 48.99 USD(Damn...the cheapest I've seen for a new release), might as well pre-order it and wait for November's Social Security check to get my DS
-
Well I just got back from two weeks of being allergic to rabbits to find my copy burried under a pile of leaves, I can't play it until i get m DS but has anyone else gotten theirs yet, if so how is it
-
I didnt even now it was already out
-
Heh, I already had some chance to buy it, but I'm quite off budget thanks to Lucca Comics convention, where I found out a lot of new treasures... :9
It will take some time to be able to buy the game and the consolle... :&
-
now u wont need mega drive o play sonic because it has just come sonic colections for ps2 and its all the games that were for mega drive since sonic 1 to i thinks sonic 3d
-
Yup :Y I already have it :D)
-
Just got my DS yesterday and started playing it, I'm only a few 'days' into the game but so far it's Ataru running around talking to people and doing stuff for em(didn't have any of my charts so it was hard to translate the kanji) and colecting the various volumes of the UY manga(all 34 volumes) which creates a cover gallery, there are also 'event' days where groups of characters go on little adventures and depending on the choices you make it raises/lowers affection with one of the girls, the game comes with a J-pop opening that for some reason doesn't suit the series in my book but oh well and finally, Cherry's head is...kinda flat but scarry non-the-less!

There is media that is never translated or dubbed even though sometimes it's very known in other countries.
A#2
There is a way to translate the game, but we just need a hacker and tranlator. :-\
A#3

Your welcome, Miss watashi.
-
Does anyone have a Nintendo DS emulator configured to Urusei Yatsura - Endless Summer
-
I have both da emulators we r mentioning inda topic, problem is that probably you wont get any sound or playtime on them, jataru
-
I have a emulator called Ideas that run the game with the sound but is very slow
-
I have desmume, and it has worked really great, a bit slow, and I can save, well every PC runs the emulator differently so it seems
-
FYI, althou I don't think they have a Nintendo version, this link gives several other game consoles new life, and at least one Uresei Yatsura game in the Sega format...
http://www.xe-emulator.com/index.php?m=about
-
Theres a site with most of the emulators http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_main.php (http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_main.php)
but I would recommend to discuss emulators on the topic that I provided
