And another new poll for your choice of any Urusei Yatsura has been started. As usual, this poll will run for 30 days starting from January 23rd.
Songs have been taken from 'The Urusei Yatsura Music Box' which contains 15 CD's packed with music from Urusei Yatsura.

I can't recognize the first two songs in the list; could it be that they're not in the Complete Music Box? Where can I find them? I must hear them!

Open Invitation gets my vote. The ending it's paired with also rocks. You can't beat a dancing silhouette of Lum and the gang. Also the way the video itself ends with Ataru kissing Lum to shut her up makes it perhaps the best ending ever.
Rock The Planet would be a close second.

When comparing it with a lot of anime shows, Urusei Yatsura has a surprisingly large amount of great songs. To pick one best song from all of these great tunes is difficult, to say the least. Nevertheless, the best one has to be Mata Aetatcha. It's really great that you can enjoy that familiar UY madness when walking to school or whatever. And I really love the way how the voice actors have managed to portray the personalities of the characters in the small segments allotted to each one of them.
To those unfortunate ones who have yet to hear it, the song is twelve minutes long, and sang entirely by the seiyuus. It features the entire cast, excepting Mendou, who has only a really small part (it's his future wife I feel sorry for :>). Anyway, one of my favourite moments in the song is Ran-chan's part, where in the beginning she sings in her cute voice, before the subject turns to more unfortunate matters (Rei-san wa Ramu-ni mitsu ja (or something)) and she has one of her schizophrenic episodes. Another great moment is Lum, whose part may be the cutest I have ever heard. Especially the part where she sings, "mata, minna min, aeta-----------tcha!"
I already have all the songs, so I won't be taking part in the voting, but still, I just wanted to plug this song that I've been listening to in my portable CD player for the last few months.

hahaha that is a great song it makes me laugh so much cuz i can understand every word of it, which is great, they like yell and stuff its so funny but really long ;)

I really love "Virgin Vs" songs, one of them, Hoshizora Cycling", was adapted to become one of the openings but I liked more the older version; Moonlight Coaster is another of their songs, in the series has been used as BGM in a small number of episodes...I remember it very well in "Pitter Patter, Summer Date", when Lum and Ataru are Roller Skating! :)

Could you (admin) please put some mp3 bgm music (ending/opening jingles, background music etc..)? Or put bgm tracks to choose in the music pool? Maybe in the download goodies you can change the mpeg files with the (128 kbps) mp3 ones.

If you can understand the song completely, how about doing a transcript of it, and maybe a translation as well. Lum-chan could maybe post it with the other song lyrics already up on the site. I understand some of the song, but sometimes they just sing so damn unclearly and indistinctly that I can't make head or tails of it. I, for one, would greatly appreciate it.

You know... actually both the first two songs are in the 14th or 15th CD of the Complete Music Box, but the names are in Japanese so I couldn't tell which ones they were :P
Anyway, they aren't really special IMHO so I guess I'll vote something else :)
