All I've got to say is: Oh-Thank-God you DIDN'T give her one of those horrible Hofner "Beatle" basses!
::)
-
What is wrong with that?
-
what is he talking about?
I don't understand.
???

-
yes, can you explain,please?

well. I left it there for a whole day, hoping some other musically-inclined Lumaholic would step up to the plate ... no takers. ( *sigh* ) Okay, here goes ....
When Giovane posted the original prosal version of this story, I was amused to read that Lum Plays Bass-Guitar. In the intervening months, I occasionally pondered, as would any good Equipment Freak (and show me a musician -- pro', amateur, or hobbyist -- who isn't an Equipment Freak), "Just What Kind (brand/model) of Bass Would Lum Play?"
(almost worthy of a separate topic)
Well.
I know what I would place 'round the shoulders of Our Beloved Alien Beauty (custom Alembic Series 2: Balance-K Heart-Omega body, Excel electronics [keep it simple, she's not going to want to fuss with adjusting the tone, she wants to pick it up and play]; flame Maple top, bookmatched-to-center ....)
... and what I wouldn't (the aforementioned abomination-with-four-strings).
duzzat 'splains it?
Oh. Giovane? Those first frames of Ataru playing guitar....
Block inlays on an Ebony fretboard. Hmmm....
Les Paul Custom?
Offtopic: I had placed a link to a picture of a Les Paul Custom here, but because it was a link to a commercial site I decided to remove it. -- D.McK.
Nice choice. :Y
we return you now to your regularly-scheduled thread, already in progress ....

veehive, you'd have to know: MY ENGLISH IS SO POOR, now I've to search to translate any word of yours. ;D ;D
About the few that I've understood, is so many times that I'm trying to realize some images of Lamù, Ataru and friends playing: is so much difficult but also amazing !!!
No many words now: just the time to carry my daugher on the bed (and to persuade her that she has to sleep) and I'll translate your words.
Sorry for my being a dummy _/-\o_ _/-\o_
-
Giovane:
Your English is fine -- and you are NOT a "dummy". I apologize to you if I have caused you any difficulty.
DarkDevil & Dak:
Does my reply to your questions give you the answer you want, or was translation the problem?
Everyone:
Your English is pretty good. It is so good that I forget that English is a "second-language" for most of you. I will choose my words with more care in the future.
sincerely,
David M. McKenney

OT
... also because the past night my daughter has decided to do a real "after hour": she has set on herself at about 2 A.M and set off at about 7 this morning (and I had to wake up at 8).

Filippo Casprini alias GiovaneDinamitardo
ps: I'm still wondering how to translate "giovane dinamitardo" in english: maybe "young-dynamite-manager" ?!? ;D
-
"Johnny Dynamite"?
(I thought that "dinamitardo" might be "dynamite" in Italiano but I could not find proof.)
I'm going to ask Lum-chan to move these posts to another section. I did not think my original "Beatle-bass" post would lead the thread this far off the topic.
