Title: Spanish-Language Vocaloids
Post by: veehive on October 23, 2011, 03:37:11 PM
With the release of the 3rd generation of the Vocaloid singing-software engine have come a crop of new Character Voices. The Barcelona-based Voctro Labs has released a pair of Spanish-language CV's: Clara and Bruno.

This is very interesting and something to look forward to. But the sad thing is that many of the newer vocaloid releases keep getting overshadowed by hatsune miku.

True to a point. But right now, there's been lots of chatter about the new Spanish voicebanks, an also-new Korean voicebank (called "SeeU") has generated a lot of interest. And, the multiple voicebanks for Megpoid ("Gumi") for V3 has garnered some positive blogspace at Vocaloidism and elsewhere.

I think what I was hoping to get was a review by any Spanish-speaking members here; how good are these two new voicebanks?

Crypton has been strangely silent: an append package (and possibly an English-language voicebank) for Kaito is strongly rumored, and we all know they're working on an English-language Miku. Until Crypton unveils these products, the Vocaloid world is open to new talent from other sources.

what I can tell you is that it seems that Bruno could only sound good with certain music genres, but you never know I might be proven wrong. Also, compared to Bruno, Clara's voice comes off slightly weaker.
Believe it or not I can speak spanish, although not perfect.
