In your opinion Rumiko Takahashi would draw a story written by another?!?
Let me explain: in Italy the drawings make comics by themselves and stories created by other players or writers, I think that the same happens in the U.S..
I do not know if it is in Japan: the most sensational case was when, in the '70s, Monkey Punch became ill during the making of the first series of Lupin and asked a "certain" Hayayo Myazaki to complete a few episodes (it recognize them because the thief uses a Fiat 500 instead of the convertible).
But a tough chick like Rumiko Takahashi would never accept to draw a story created by another and based on her characters?!?
Yes, it happened with the plots of films (except "Boy Meets Girl ") but for a manga would be willing to compromise?!?
Or she wouldn't even consider a proposal, neither if it came from a "great" of animation?

Takahashi has a small staff (3 or 4 women) who help her produce her manga; Rumiko primarily writes the manga and does rough layouts (and occasionally does some finishing work) but her staff does the rest. Rumiko also relies heavily on her editors for story ideas and direction. I would say that it would be entirely possible for Rinne (for example) to be completely written and drawn by her staff & editors for a couple episodes in case Rumiko was unable to do so.
