Huh? Why is there only one topic in here?
Anyway, if you don't mind I'd like to post my fanart here, seeing as I'm dedicated
to drawing Lamu. Only true believers are fit to judge any image of Her anyway ;D
I'm not very productive as an artist so I have only one finished work thus far,

Heh, actually that was the only way I could make it look anywhere
close to natural, I was using a reference for the pose. She does
wear a top like that in the Rock the planet OP though, so I'll leave
it to the animators to explain how she's keeping it up ;D

Tell me what you think of this then, I haven't really settled on my own
style of drawing so I've tried something entirely different. It's just a
rough sketch though so there're alot of flaws.

In the first fan-art the hair is too short in the back and near the ears. In the second fan-art it's PERFECT! Keep up the excellent work.

(for a lack of a better word) I know that they're alot longer in the canon,
maybe I'll try that out next time around.
I'm confused though, I get the impression that the hair is pretty much
the same size in both images, but it's perfect? ::)

Lol. But the second one isn't it Lum when she was a child? When she was little she used to have the hair like it is in the fan-art. Besides that Lum has such a "childish" expression in her face that I supposed her to be a Chibi Lum. What I wanted to say is that one of the most well-done fan-arts I have ever seen. Guess what Nebbo? I am your fan.

Funny how everyone thinks it looks chibi though, that wasn't my
intention at all. I agree it needs alot more work, I only spent an
hour on it or so, I will probably rework it from scratch.
I decided to try drawing her chibi too illustrate what I think chibi
should look like.

Tried doing a celshade this time, I'm quite happy with it so far. Yes,
now she has a mouth :) I'm going to make the body too, but I don't have
any good reference so it's painstakingly hard.

 I agree with you when you said that is more interesting a Chibi Lum with red eyes. But I think that if it is Lum then her eyes should be blue. But I still like your work. Keep it up please.

I prefer the blue eyes. It's pretty good. The body and the last part of the hair could be better, but I really like it. Please keep working and keep posting your fan-art.

I rushed pretty much everything besides the head,
I've spent far too long on something that was only supposed to
be an example of what I though chibi Lamu should look like ::)

Not just a floating head, that's a good start ;D Maybe her hips are too exaggerated,
it just turned out like that. I'm still new to drawing bodies, but I consider it a step up.

Hmm,they are well drawn,however i have some comments:
Pics 1-4 : Lum looks a lot as Inuyasha,it needs a more femenine face
Pic 5: Lum's head is too big (but i like da costume)
Pic 6:Same as the first 4,lum doesnt look as herself and it would be better if she had a more happy face (anyways liked da message and background)

on drawing 5, that isn't bad body drawing, just as cosmic said the head is too big, it's a combination of childhood Lum's head and adult Lum's body. they're were good by the way

Inuyasha, that's a bit harsh :P
But I see what you're saying, I'll try to fix that. As for the head being too
big in #5, it's about 5 heads tall, and generally it should be between 5 and 8
heads for non-chibi characters. So yeah it could be smaller, it doesn't hit
me as too big though.

one question.... how do you get the color??
Don't tell me you've never heard of photoshop :P Anyway I painted that
with a program called corel painter. There's a free program called the gimp
that you could try out, you can find it here (http://downloads.sourceforge.net/gimp-win/gimp-2.2.17-i586-setup.exe), and you need to install this (http://downloads.sourceforge.net/gimp-win/gtk%2B-2.10.13-setup.exe) file
too.
You can ask me if you need help getting started.

I agree it looks a bit boyish, and I compared it with another pic of Lum. Here are the problems:
-The chin is too pointy. Try to make it a little more round.
-The shoulders are too broad.
Also, maybe you could get a better effect if you gave more volume to her hair instead of those pointy bits, but that's just an opinion. :P

your finger on it then say so, I rarely can so that's why I need advice.

It's not that simple really, there's no set distinction between male and female
eyes, all I can say is that these eyes are pretty close to stereotypical female
eyes. That is, they're big, the irises are big, and the eyelashes are prominent.

That's from OVA 10 - Terror of the girly eyes measles, I'm counting that as
stereotypical :P The differences are severely blurred when it comes to children
though, so I think my problem might be that they're too big, thus childish and
thus boyish. *End of analysis* :? ;D
I was planning on making more of the body, I'll do that during inking. If it comes
out better than now then I'll do a background too, even though I'm no good at it.
What else? Longer neck, yeah maybe a little ;D
@Kroptik: Comparing with other pictures won't do much good, as I'm trying
to draw her different. I'll hold off the comment on the shoulder breadth until
after I've drawn the chest and arms, easier to tell that way.
I really tried to make her hair less rigid and more flowing than usual, it's harder
than you'd think. I think I overdid it, too many "pointy bits" ;D I guess I need
practice.

And don't worry about the eyes, they're fine. They only look different because they're not coloured yet (remember that male eyes in anime don't have colors besides black and white, while female eyes are a lot more colorful).

Well if you see a Lum's pic, you see the her ears are turned to the rest of the face and are stretched, and in your drawing, her ear is turned to the left and isn't stretched. I hope that you understand what I mean.

I think so, it's supposed to be turned with the face, but I'm assuming
that her ears aren't pressed flat against her head and that's why it isn't

The only pokemon I know is Pikachu :& It made me curious though so I looked that Eevee up, and you're right, it looks like a total ripoff 8)

Your fox is really good! I think it looks like a Pokemon. It reminded me of Eevee and its evolutions.
The only pokemon I know is Pikachu :& It made me curious though so I looked that Eevee up, and you're right, it looks like a total ripoff 8)
