Title: Love Hina (anime and manga)
Post by: UataruY on July 11, 2009, 02:28:38 AM
i've finished watching and reading everything about Love Hina and i loved it! you people should try it.

it's the same type as urusei yatsura and although the anime is good i recommend the manga cause it's reallyyyyyy good and it has the real ending and better stories than the anime.

when i finished reading the manga i actually cried for half an hour xD and i don't usually cry over these things! (although i get really depressed like i am now)

the ending in the manga is really good when i was rading it i though why uy didn't have an ending like this!?

the manga has 14 volumes each with an average of 130 pages

the anime has 25 episodes, 2 specials and 3 Ova's called Love Hina Again (i recommend you watch in this order  :))

It's on my to watch list, but that's a long list, so I don't know when I'll watch it. xD

By the way, there are 4 OVAs and 3 specials, not 3 OVAs and 2 specials.
The OVAs are "Love Hina Again" (like you said, 3), and "Love Hina Final Selection".
The specials are "Love Hina - Motoko's Choice, Love or the Sword - Don't Cry" (which is also called episode 25, I just read it now :P), "Love Hina Again" and "love Hina Spring Special".

You're missing Final Selection I guess. xD

oh sorry about that

if you guys like it but thought the ending or some of the episodes were a little vague regarding some matters, read the manga, everything of love hina is better in the manga :P

I'm watching it on TV... and for some reason after the opening (I like the music) I change channel... after all the animes I've seen... Love Hina is kinda of lackluster... It could of been much better... and for me it's a one time only anime...

When I saw it for the first time it was Ok... but now... comparing to other animes... its kinda... meh!!

I agree with FallinG said, it's a good anime if you like romantic/harem stuff, but has barely any re-watch value to me.

go watch Ladies versus butlers (http://myanimelist.net/anime/7148/Ladies_versus_Butlers!) now Falling! it's got many ecchi characters bundled in one neat package this includes a harem anime with tsundere and legal loli.

but I like harem anime that stays the way it is with the main protagonist being undecided on which girl to pick.
I am aware at some point I will get annoyed for the romantic development won't go any further than it first started, but I know if the story has to move on, the main character will have to make a choice and the rest will be left out.
adding realism may make it more interesting, but kinda hurtful at the same time,
I've read some harem manga like
Spoiler (hover to show)
(both from the same mangaka) where the main character had to made a unexpected decision, that shocked me for days.
at the end I came to a conclusion that it was for the best.
I never would of though that a manga would of impact me as much as this one.
I should try love hina, to see if it's in my liking :9

LoL

Obviously janus... :P
I'm already watching Lady vs But... since it started airing in Japan... ;D

It's weird the fact that they use censor in Seikon no Qwaser... but Lady vs Butlers goes on untouched... XD

lady vs bato is airing on a premium channel, so no censors expected there

I`ve got Love Hina (it`s what brought me back to buying/watching UY after a 15 yr gap), & although I`m a fan, I too found that sometimes it was below par in comparison.
I tend to buy a series to watch uninterrupted during the 2nd weekend in July (the annual summer holiday break here in the UK), as I house/dogsit for a buddy & his wife whilst they attend an annual biker rally.
This is now known amongst my friends as Nerdstock Weekend (!).
Last years`s dvd viewing choice was CLAMP`s chobits, interspersed with Kimagure Orange Road on #Invalid YouTube Link# to allow the dvd player to cool off for an hour or two. This year it`s gonna be UY eps all the way...  :*)
