I know there are new seyiuus for the characters, I don't know if any of the original cast is there but the voices, it feels like the original cast except cherry I guess.
The new modern animation for the series still feels a little weird but overall seem good.
I want to know if it was just me who was kinda weirded out a bit cause of Ataru's face or his hair.
Overall seems good, I want to see how they will modernize the series, if they will throw some call backs from the 80s
There's also other thing that I saw in the trailer, it said four cours.
Which means it will have four seasons of episodes, now let's wait to see if it will be a season of 12/13 or 26 episodes each.
I also want to know if they will censor anything, I mean we know how the original first episode went. xD

I think it will be better than what I was expecting. I was a bit affraid at first, yes, but I loved this new PV.
And why was I affraid? Because I know we can't have the same voice actors and the same staff because it's been 30+ years since the first series aired. I was affraid to "lose" that big nostalgia I feel whenever I think or talk about UY. But seeing in this PV how they kept that nostalgic character style mixed modern animation felt like a breath of fresh air. Visually it's kinda like watching the original series in ultra HD :mrgreen: And I'm liking this overall aesthetic shown in the PV.
What I'm still curious about is on the sound department. Will they also use those funky sound effects used in the original series? That I doubt because even tho I think they are funny, they are kinda outdated nowadays.
This new series is supposedly going to follow the manga strictly wich will too be fun to watch.

The trend nowadays is the 12/13 ep cours but the longer running series get 24/26 like My Hero Academia. But considering the size of the source material in UY I believe we're gonna get 24/26 eps each. And who knows if movies will come too ;D
As for the censor I think the TV version will be censored and Blu-Ray version uncensored.

The sound they did with all the explosions and kind off in most episodes is a classic in the series, they will probably not do it but it would be cool if they update some kind of the sound department from the old series.
And about that field department I would be very surprised if the first opening wouldn't be an updated version of Lum no Love Song.
From the old soundtrack I would like for the series to put that one and the Forlorn aren't you song, updated of course.
And if they will follow the manga strictly then KÅsuke Shirai will appear, he's in the manga as Ataru best friend but in the anime he was excluded in favor of the Stormtroopers.
So if they go like this then Megane, Chibi, Perm and Kakugari will not make an appearance since in the manga they appear as unnamed characters.
Which would be bad cause almost half of the comic relief in the series was because of them.
I don't think they would make any movies but I would like for some episodes the kind of feeling of the 2nd movie Beautiful Dreamer, the kind of mysterious, unknown, kinda nostalgic feeling.

I'll be honest I never read the manga apart from some loose pages so I had no idea about the Stormtroopers not being there. But still I think it will be fun if the anime sticks to it so I can "read" the manga without actually reading it :mrgreen: If that makes any sense.
But good point about the comic relief. I hold dear many moments from the series and alot of them are comic moments from the Stormtroopers.
