Shogakukan is making some of its best-loved manga series available for iPhone. Each manga volume is available for download for 450yen each. Urusei Yatsura and Detective Conan are among the first to be offered.

I don't have an iPhone but... that rocks! =D
-
the playstation network has a similar comic service but no traces of japanese manga whatsoever. ironic because with you can rent or buy anime in the video section. I would really like to read manga on my psp :(
-
Does that work in any other smart phone or is it just the iPhone?
Such service would be better for use in a iPad... Reading manga in iPhone screen size... That would cause me a serious case of crazy eyes...

based on the comic reader for the psp, you read each panel individually then you fly over to the next panel on the page. making easier to read on a small screen. I don't know how it would work on an iphone/ipod touch, it would work great on an ipad. but it would be too much money to spend if you specifically buy it for that
-
Considering "one panel" can be 2 pages, it still doesn't sounds pretty good. :S
I'll just read my manga on my PC, TYVM. :P
-
that is true, viewing manga on a PC is more convenient, but mayor companies aren't liking it. I say there should be a legit comic reader where you can download manga from Itunes or Amazon, and read it on the PC other than the kindle or the ipad, but I guess we haven't found that middle point yet

That's cool...hopefully something similar could come over to the Android...I'd rather read it on my lappy, but if I was in line somewhere or just that lazy I could do the pinch-zoom on my Epic :D
-
cool, tho this makes me want an iPhone even more...

I read UY also other comics in iPad under PDF format.
Screen of iPhone is too small for me to read.
