I just had to say this. I've been reaching my favourite episodes, like episode 10, 39, 45, 105 and 106, and rewatching the movies, and this show is just so damn great! I used to watch crap cartoons like South Park and Family Guy and Spongebob and stuff, then I found Urusei Yatsura and it showed me real quality!

Discuss how amazing this show is

As a side note, did anyone else notice how much Ataru changed physically throughout the series? When you see him in episode 1 and then see him in the Final Chapter I wouldn't think he was the same person

I agree with you. Urusei Yatsura is the best show, that Rumiko Takahashi created. Since 2009 im a big UY fan, but haven't watch all episodes (but the movies and ovas) and read only a few of manga chapters.

Ataru haven't really changed, he is only getting more pervert with the wish of a harem.

im wit LKMC on that Ataru does "grow" However i always thought its a little bit of better animation kicking in that give Ataru his stronger features later on.

Animation director is not the same person. Of course they wouldn't like the style.
