I've come across an interesting manga recently. I don't know if it's been brought up before, but it reminds me of UY in a lot of ways. And I mean a LOT of ways. Check it out, is it just my imagination?
To Love-Ru

Well, that's the link to the online reading version of that manga... but if you can't get that site up (or figure it out), you can try the download section and just download the manga from here:

Anyways, thanks for sharing this, sidzero,it looks promising

Like I said in another thread about a UY-ripoff, I have no problem with the idea of copying ideas. I just thought I'd share one that, in my opinion, has a number of similarities, but manages to be different enough that it ends up being pretty damned good.
In fact, I think I may like Lala more than I like Lum. ;D

Uh-oh,i think someone is in trouble with Lum
Nah,i am joking,it is ok if ya like Lala, sidzero

lala ? ??? ripoff }:|

lala seems to be a combination of many animes, anyway i see this anime to be more of a ripoff of Girls Bravo than UY, the only difference really is Rito isn't allergic to girls

like the anime Dna2 :)

Really, most all anime/manga that falls into the magical girlfriend/harem combined genre tend to have a lot of similarities to one another. UY was just one of the (if not THE) pioneer of the genre. The only ones I've come across that fits into that and isn't pretty much the same as everything else seems to be Aa Megami-Sama (Oh My Goddess! here in the states) and Ai Yori Aoshi.
Oh, and To Love-Ru isn't an anime yet. But it will be come april. :)

Ah My Goddess is so far from being the same style as UY.
Keiichi is totally devoted to Belldandy, and he has no intention at all of having a harem. You could still call it a Magical Girlfriend anime, which it is, but it would never fit the harem style.
-
Technically, it's about as harem as UY is. In UY there are a lot of girls and none of them are attracted to Ataru. In AMG there are also a number of girls who aren't REALLY attracted to Keiichi, though there is something every now and then. Now, I won't say it's harem the same way that something like Tenchi Muyo or Love Hina is, but it does fit the general description of having one main guy who gets involved in the lives of multiple women.
Besides Belldandy, AMG does also have Urd, Skuld, Peorth, Sayoko, Hasegawa, and Marller who are all pretty regular parts of Keiichi's life.
-
True, but K1 isn't chasing them all, is he?
He knows he loves Belldandy and, even if Urd tries to make him more daring, he respects and is faithful to her.
And as you see when he's thinking about his first wish, he has absolutely no idea of getting girls or forcing them into any kind of relationship (even later, he thinks he should have wished Belldandy to be her girlfriend in the first place, but then he discards that idea because of that reason).
Maybe if K1 wasn't as shy as he was, but that would be a different anime.

Chasing the various girls doesn't really have anything to do with it either. Consider Love Hina, the only girl that Keitaro is interested in pursuing is Naru. And that's probably the EPITOME of harem.
