Why did viz stop the UY manga?

<< < (2/4) > >>

veehive:
Many years ago, when VIZ stopped translating the UruseiYatsura manga, a group of enthusiasts began doing their own translations. They called it Project ILM (Industrial Lum in Manga). These were the scanlations that were floating around on-line for many years, and VIZ didn't complain.

This year, VIZ started taking down these scanlations. The Project ILM contributors seemed delighted, sensing this was a prelude to VIZ issuing a fully-licensed completely-translated UruseiYatsura manga set.

'Bout 6 months later now ... any news? NOPE. Not a peep out of VIZ. Nothing. Gauging the state of the world's Economies, I'd say it's a good bet that there will NOT be any new release of translated UY manga.

So, now, not only are we NOT getting any translated UY manga, but also the only translations out there have been removed from the Web.

dam sucks that we have noting but we can always keep wishing into the night sky and if we're lucky we might see a shooting star :D Come to think of it how many volumes of the return of Lum did they make? I still have the first 8 vols before they made the return of Lum. At least i think it was 8...

cata:
They can take down whatever they want but we (downloaders) can get ANYTHING from the web if we know how to search for it.

FallinG_StaR:
Yes... free porn and hentai downloads for all... Huh?! Wait... what are talking about? ;D

Cosmic King:
We could upload the manga volumes we have (I downloaded all the UY manga back in 2006)

Problem would be to find a decent hosting site

What do you guys think?
